The article reports on recent water quality analyses conducted by the Municipality of Kranj regarding natural swimming areas in the area. Initial tests at the end of June 2026 indicated that both Čukov Bajer and Kokra near Kosorep were suitable for swimming, while the waters of the Sava River near Savski Otok were deemed unsuitable due to contamination. Following this, the municipality ordered a second test on the Sava River, which revealed that the pollution was caused by short-term effects of heavy rainfall. The latest results show that the water quality at the Sava River has improved and is now considered suitable for swimming. Additionally, the municipality conducted further testing at the wooden bridge in the canyon area after receiving questions from residents about the water quality in the Kokra river. These additional tests confirmed that the water meets the recommended standards for swimming.
