Later, he visited Alluru village to meet with individuals affected by bonded labour, inquiring into their challenges and assuring them of continued government support. Measures were promised to assist these individuals in securing education for their children and obtaining essential documents such as Aadhaar cards, ration cards, and bank accounts. In Markapuram, the first-ever Independence Day celebrations were held since the district’s formation. The event took place at SVKP College grounds, with District Collector M. Vijaya Sunitha serving as the chief guest and hoisting the national flag. She later received a guard of honour from the police forces, marking a moment of unity and pride among residents. Meanwhile, in Amaravati, elaborate preparations were underway for the main celebrations at Nelapadu Grounds. The capital region was adorned with illuminations reflecting the Tricolour, with major government buildings and landmarks decorated accordingly. The five buildings of the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat featured special lighting designed to mirror the national flag, while the Assembly building was similarly illuminated. Roads adjacent to the Assembly and Secretariat premises, along with Central Park, were decorated with colorful lights. The historic Undavalli Caves near Vijayawada also displayed the tricolour, with each tier of the caves lit in one color of the flag. Other notable sites, including Lok Bhavan, the Prakasam Barrage, and government offices, were similarly decorated. Several flag-hoisting ceremonies were planned for Saturday, with key officials set to take part. Legislative Council Chairman Koyye Moshen Raju was scheduled to unfurl the national flag at the Legislative Council premises at 7.45 a.m., while Assembly Speaker Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu would hoist the Tricolour at the Assembly premises at 8 a.m. At the Secretariat’s First Block, Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad was to unfurl the flag at 7.30 a.m., and Chief Justice Lisa Gill would lead the ceremony at the Andhra Pradesh High Court in Nelapadu at 10 a.m. During the events, a minor incident occurred when a minister fainted during a speech in Tirupati. The official had been standing on stage for over an hour before losing his balance and collapsing. Emergency medical personnel responded promptly, ensuring his condition was stable. Details regarding the cause of the fainting remain under investigation.
