Experts estimate that more than ten tons of fish died, primarily due to excessive aquatic weed, which has been rapidly spreading in the lake over the past three years. This invasive plant, native to Slovenia, creates dense mats on the water surface and consumes large amounts of oxygen upon decay, leading to fish mortality.
