Two American agaves at the Palmiarnia Wałbrzych greenhouse have bloomed for the first and only time in their lives after 35 years of growth. This rare event required workers to partially dismantle the glass roof to accommodate the massive flower stalks, which can grow up to 14 meters tall in natural conditions. The agaves, known as monocarpic plants, store water and nutrients over decades before using them to produce an enormous bloom and thousands of flowers. Visitors can now view the flowering plants during tours of the facility.
