SloveniaOn Thursday, August 27, 2026, a new Elderly Home in Sodražice was officially opened. The construction cost 4.3 million euros, with nearly 3 million coming from the 'Recovery and Resilience Plan' funded by the Slovenian government in 2021 and 2022. The remaining funds were provided by the investor DSO Grosuplje. Initially, the home will accommodate at least 24 beds, with additional beds available for temporary stays, long-term care, daily support, and extra services for elderly individuals and people with disabilities. The opening ceremony was attended by Minister Janez Cigler Kralj, former Minister for Social Affairs, State Secretary at the Ministry of Demographics, Family, and Equal Opportunities Andrej Štesl, director of DSO Grosuplje Metka Šajn Velepec, and mayor of Sodražice Blaž Milavec. The local parish priest, Franc Bizjak, blessed the facility. The building will open to its first resident within a month.
