FIRE IN GREECE: Airplanes and helicopters on the ground, right next to the house where I live

A major wildfire broke out around 1 PM local time in the forest area of Pevkali near Corinth, Greece, threatening nearby residential homes. Greek authorities deployed firefighting teams, including 62 firefighters, three infantry units, 18 fire trucks, seven aerial firefighting aircraft, and two helicopters to combat the blaze. Residents were advised to evacuate via the Korinth-Epidaurus road toward the town of Sofiko using the emergency warning system 112. Earlier in the day, Greek media reported fires in areas such as Eviya, Boeotia, and Stylida. Meanwhile, wildfires have intensified in the western United States, particularly in Utah and Colorado, where three firefighters died and two were injured while battling blazes. Governor Spencer Cox of Utah declared a state of emergency due to severe wildfire conditions, and Colorado Governor Jared Polis authorized the use of the National Guard to assist in firefighting efforts. Parts of northern Arizona experienced power outages as utility companies cut electricity to reduce the risk of wildfires.
