New crane for the construction of the Sava bridge arrives around 20 July: This is the next big step on the construction site

The construction of the new bridge over the Sava River in Belgrade has reached a significant milestone with the arrival of complete steel structures from China. According to Ivan Nikolić, the site manager from the company 'Pauer Čajna,' the work is progressing according to schedule, with new machinery and cranes expected to arrive by mid-July. The project involves complex underwater construction and the assembly of massive structures on pillars, which pose significant technical challenges. The bridge is a key component of the 'Mini Metro' project. The last shipment of materials arrived in May, completing the total of 6,000 tons of steel needed for the upper structure of the bridge. Work on the pillars on both banks has been completed, and preparations are underway for the installation of the main span, which will be approximately 240 meters long. The bridge's weight will be around 6,500 tons, with 4,700 tons being assembled on-site. The construction includes the installation of arches 36 meters high, with cables already tested in China.
