Gideon van Biljon, a twelve-year-old actor with a growing reputation in the performing arts, will lead the 2026 production of Peter Pan Jr. at Die Centurion Teater. The show, running from August 13 to 15, marks a milestone in Van Biljon's career as he steps into the iconic role of Peter Pan. Originally cast as the titular character was Erich Jordaan, who opted to pursue an overseas opportunity, prompting Scenario Youth to select Van Biljon for the part. Van Biljon, known for his versatility and dedication, brings a wealth of experience to the role. He previously starred as Eric in the internationally acclaimed Matilda the Musical Asia Tour (2023–2024), a production co-produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company and GWB Entertainment. His performances in the tour spanned multiple countries, including Israel, Dubai, China, Thailand, Singapore, India and Abu Dhabi, highlighting his ability to captivate diverse audiences. In addition to his stage work, Van Biljon has appeared in films, television commercials and music videos, further demonstrating his range as a performer. Beyond his professional achievements, Van Biljon maintains a rigorous training regimen in ballet, contemporary and jazz through institutions such as CBA and the Royal Academy of Dance. His background in competitive gymnastics has earned him numerous accolades, including multiple Gold awards and recognition as Best Gymnast in his year group. This combination of physical discipline and artistic passion has prepared him for the demanding role of Peter Pan, requiring both athletic prowess and emotional depth. The production of Peter Pan Jr. promises to be a vibrant celebration of imagination and childhood wonder. Audiences will follow Peter Pan as he invites Wendy, John and Michael on an unforgettable journey to Neverland, a fantastical realm populated by Lost Boys, Brave Girls, mischievous pixies and the formidable Captain Hook. Alongside Van Biljon as Peter Pan, the ensemble includes Amelia Oosthuizen as Wendy, Christian Beyra Martinez as Captain Hook, Charles Serrao as Michael, Aidan Bence as John, Kyle Cronje as Smee, Jonathan Stoltz as Mr Darling, Maya van Schalkwyk as Mrs Darling, Mia Kruger as Tiger Lily and Karli Roos as Liza.
