The 10 best holiday islands in Europe.

A new study by Saga Holidays ranks the top 10 European islands for 2026 based on three factors: weather (sonshine and temperatures), food and drink offerings, and green spaces. The evaluation included 80 island destinations across Europe, with Spain and Croatia dominating the rankings. Tenerife in the Canary Islands topped the list with 95 out of 100 points due to its natural beauty, fresh food, and excellent weather. La Palma, another Canary Island, came second, while Portugal’s Madeira ranked third. Among Croatian islands, Korčula placed fourth and Mljet fifth. Other notable mentions include Lošinj and Brač from Croatia, along with Gran Canaria and La Gomera from the Canary Islands. Interestingly, no Greek islands made the top ten.
