In the insurance market without major changes

The Slovenian insurance market remained largely unchanged in structure in 2023 according to data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia. Total premiums collected increased by 33.7% to nearly €3.4 billion, while payouts amounted to €1.5 billion, representing a significant increase. The largest share of premiums came from liability insurance for the use of motor vehicles (28%), followed by life insurance (21.4%) and motor vehicle insurance (around 18%). Life insurance also had the highest share of payouts at nearly 33%, followed by motor vehicle insurance (24.6%) and liability insurance (17.7%). Physical persons paid the most in premiums for liability insurance, while life insurance provided the most payouts. Legal entities saw motor vehicle insurance dominate both in premiums and payouts, with physical persons accounting for 77% of both total premiums and payouts.
