There's a new lockdown on the Styrian highway. Expect traffic jams.

A new traffic restriction has been announced affecting bus routes in Slovenia, with changes to the G3 city bus line due to road closures. Starting Monday, August 10, at 9:00 AM, the intersection of Proletarskih Brigad Street and Jadrska Street will be fully closed. The closure is expected to last until August 31, 2026. As a result, the route of the municipal bus line G3 will be altered during this period. Buses will operate via a detour around the closed intersection. During the closure, buses traveling along Proletarskih Brigad Street will divert onto Ljubljanska Street and then proceed to Ulica Eve Lovše. From there, they will turn back and continue towards Tržaška Street. In the opposite direction, the same detour will apply. This change means that the bus stop at Prol. Brigad, Tržaška will be temporarily unavailable. Passengers will instead use the existing stop at Tržaška, Ptujska as an alternative. The closure is part of broader infrastructure work aimed at improving road conditions and safety. It marks another instance of temporary road restrictions impacting local transportation networks. The affected area is a key junction in the city, making the detour necessary for maintaining traffic flow while the works are underway. In addition to the G3 bus route adjustments, another road closure has been implemented on the Styrian Motorway. A new restriction is in place near the town of Slovenske Konjice, which will affect drivers traveling between Ljubljana and Maribor. The closure began on Sunday, August 9, at 9:00 PM, when the exit from the motorway toward Slovenske Konjice was closed. This restriction is expected to remain in effect until August 19. As a result of the closure, drivers must take an alternative route using the regional road connecting Celje, Vojnik, Slovenske Konjice, and Tepanje. At the same time, entry onto the motorway from the direction of Ljubljana is also restricted. This partial closure is set to stay open until August 31. Drivers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly, taking into account potential delays and the need to adjust their routes. Local authorities have issued warnings to motorists about the impact of these closures. They urge drivers to check updated information before setting off and to allow extra travel time. Both closures highlight ongoing efforts to improve road infrastructure, though they also pose challenges for commuters and local transport services.
