Thompson's departure marks the final step in the complete reconstruction of the Dallas Mavericks. With his exit, the team will retain only five players who were part of the roster at the start of the previous season two years ago. During his 11 seasons with the Golden State Warriors, Thompson missed just two games due to injury. In contrast, he recorded the same number of missed games in just two seasons with the Mavericks. One of the greatest shooters in NBA history, Thompson has won four titles with the Warriors, where he spent the first 13 seasons of his career alongside Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. He was forced to miss two entire seasons due to severe injuries to his knees and Achilles tendons. In two seasons with the Mavericks, Thompson averaged 12.9 points with a 39 percent shooting percentage from three-point range. His career average stands at 19.6 points with a 41 percent accuracy from beyond the arc. With a total of 2,899 made threes, Thompson ranks fourth on the all-time list in the NBA league. Only Stephen Curry, James Harden, and Ray Allen are ahead of him.
