DMC meteorologist: new front will arrive on Wednesday and August could still bring rain outside normal

Arnaldo Zúñiga, meteorologist and spokesperson for Chile's Dirección Meteorológica (DMC), stated that unstable weather conditions are expected next week, with a new frontal system arriving midweek. The system would initially affect the La Araucanía region in the morning, then Ñuble in the afternoon, and reach the Metropolitan Region by evening. However, this system remains within normal parameters, with no significant heat or moisture involved. The northern regions, including Coquimbo, will not be affected by this particular system. While the possibility of extreme weather events in August cannot be ruled out, especially due to El Niño conditions, the likelihood of repeating recent extreme events is low. Southern regions are expected to continue experiencing frontal systems over the coming months.
