Singapore's Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has committed S$220 million over three years to advance innovation in the fintech sector. This funding forms part of the updated Financial Sector Technology and Innovation (FSTI) scheme, designed to strengthen Singapore’s status as a leading fintech hub. The initiative includes measures such as co-funding internships to develop local talent, supporting up to 1,000 fintech internships, and promoting the adoption of frontier technologies like artificial intelligence. Deputy Prime Minister and MAS Chairman Gan Kim Yong emphasized the importance of collaboration with the financial industry and fintech firms to address challenges and enhance the ecosystem. The program builds on previous iterations since 2015, which have supported over 350 fintech projects, contributing to Singapore’s growing fintech landscape with more than 1,800 companies and 10,000 employees.
