Architects Petra Zakrajšek and Urška Černigoj from the firm GAO arhitekti designed the interior of a two-story apartment located in a new residential building. The project focused on integrating specific spatial constraints, including a narrow floor plan and an organically shaped ceiling, into the design concept rather than fighting against them. The layout features sleeping quarters on the lower level and living areas on the upper level, utilizing west-facing orientation to capture natural light. Design elements include rounded staircases, textured partitions made of rattan, and a transition from terrazzo to wood flooring to create distinct zones. The architects aimed to transform functional limitations into aesthetic assets by using materials and lighting to enhance the sense of space and intimacy.
