Google concluded its autumn 2026 product launch with the unveiling of three new smartphones, the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL, alongside a range of accessories designed to expand its ecosystem. The event marked a transition phase for Google’s hardware lineup, emphasizing incremental improvements in specifications and a stronger focus on software enhancements. Among the key products announced were the Pixel Watch 5, which introduces breath and insulin monitoring features, the Pixel Buds Pro 2, and the Pixel Tag, a device aimed at competing with Apple's Air Tags in tracking lost items such as keys and luggage. The displays are OLED Actua screens measuring 6.3 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 2424 pixels, variable refresh rates ranging from 60 to 120Hz, and peak brightness reaching up to 3,000 nits. These screens are protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. In the Pro models, the maximum brightness increases further, while the refresh rate can drop as low as 1Hz to conserve battery power for always-on-display functions. Battery capacities remain largely unchanged, though all models support fast charging up to 25 watts. With a 45-watt charger, the Pro XL reaches 75 percent charge in 30 minutes, whereas the standard Pixel 11 and 11 Pro achieve 55 percent within the same timeframe. Camera upgrades were a central highlight of the event, featuring a new 48-megapixel sensor that expands upon the previous generation while maintaining an aperture of f/1.70. According to Google, this results in a 56 percent improvement in light sensitivity compared to the Pixel 10. The base model retains its 13-megapixel wide-angle lens and 5x telephoto lens, while the Pro variants receive enhanced lenses and faster sensors for their wide-angle cameras, along with larger optics for the telephoto lenses. A notable addition to the camera systems of both Pro models is HiLight, a customizable LED indicator that allows users to communicate phone behavior or notifications without physically handling the device. Users can assign different colors to Gemini and other functionalities related to specific apps or incoming calls from particular contacts. However, the implementation of these AI-related features in Italy remains uncertain due to European Union regulations requiring equal access to system functionalities for all competitors. Some of the presented features appear promising, including automatic removal of verbal fillers during dictation, instant translation capabilities for videos, podcasts, and voice messages, and real-time sign language translation during video calls. In addition to the smartphones, Google expanded its wearable and accessory portfolio with the Pixel Watch 5, which introduces advanced health monitoring capabilities such as breath and insulin tracking. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 offer improved audio performance and additional features, while the Pixel Tag aims to compete directly with Apple's Air Tags by providing a solution for locating misplaced items.
