The new organ of the Orchestra of Sodin-Black

On Sunday, June 14, the village of Loče near Poljčani experienced a historic event with the blessing of new church organs. The ceremony was led by Archbishop Alojzij Cvikl, who also celebrated mass with parish priest Jožet Brezovnik. The new organs were presented by master organ builder Matjaž Sodin. The first organs for the church were made in 1824 by Matija Krainz from Graz. In 1905, they were replaced by new ones crafted by Josip Brandl, an organ master from Maribor. In 2024, the community decided to purchase new organs from Orglarstvo Sodin-Črne based in Šmarje pri Lemburgu. The restoration of the organ case was undertaken by academic restorer and conservator Katarina Blaži. The new organs feature 13 speaking stops, 762 pipes—625 metal and 137 wooden—and were constructed using a classical mechanical principle.
