The lawyer who turned her own transformation into a method followed by thousands of women.

Carolina Winograd, a lawyer turned advocate for self-discovery and holistic well-being, has become a beacon of inspiration for thousands of women worldwide. At 48 years old, she speaks with conviction about embracing aging as a journey of growth rather than decline. Her personal transformation into a method others follow has led to the publication of her book Vivir sin fecha de vencimiento (Living Without an Expiration Date), released by Editorial Planeta. The work blends science, emotional intelligence, and practical techniques, such as breathing exercises, massage, and meditation, to guide readers through their own paths of self-renewal. Winograd’s journey began in childhood, marked by creativity and vitality. She was known for her artistic talents, winning awards and expressing herself through poetry and prose. However, during adulthood, she shifted focus toward a stable career in corporate law, eventually becoming a professor at the Faculty of Law at the University Torcuato Di Tella. Despite professional success, she felt a growing disconnection from her true self. A turning point came when she participated in a tango singing competition, which reignited her sense of identity. “It was a way for me to return to who I had been,” she recalls. On stage, she felt alive again, and this experience prompted her to explore new dimensions of life beyond her legal career. Inspired by her mentor, Mary Sánchez, Winograd made a promise to herself one night: to begin writing. That night, she stayed awake, overwhelmed by memories and insights. She drafted initial chapters and submitted them to a single publisher, which later accepted the manuscript. The book was published nearly a year ago, and since then, it has resonated deeply with readers. This summer, she delivered a talk titled “The Time to Decide” at TEDx Plaza Francia Women, discussing regrets born from decisions left untaken. Within three months, the video received over 1,500 views, and she continues to receive messages from women around the world, mothers giving copies to daughters, sisters exchanging gifts, and individuals connecting with parts of her story that mirror their own experiences. Her approach to beauty and wellness reflects her broader philosophy. Winograd co-created a line of hair care products under the brand Gentileza, emphasizing simplicity over excess. Products such as the Hydra Boost and the Glorious Elixir embody her belief in minimalism and authenticity. “I wanted to simplify instead of accumulate,” she explains. Her products are designed to align with her vision of living authentically, free from societal pressures and unrealistic standards. Transitioning from a corporate lawyer to a tango singer and wellness advocate was not easy. For a time, she balanced both worlds, but the strain became unsustainable. Leaving her law practice was a liberating step, though it also revealed long-held tensions. Burnout symptoms surfaced more strongly, including chronic pain and sleep disturbances. Her body, she says, finally “took its toll.” Yet, this struggle reinforced her message: change is gradual, not immediate. It requires patience, self-awareness, and the courage to embrace imperfection. Today, Winograd lives with her daughter, Paloma, and continues to share her insights through speaking engagements and writings. Her story is not just one of personal reinvention, but a call to action for women everywhere to reclaim their narratives and find meaning in the process of becoming. As she puts it, the journey is ongoing, and it begins with listening to oneself.
