A Chinese company has stunned the tech world with the launch of its new smartphone, the Honor Robot Phone, which features a fully integrated robotic camera system. The device, unveiled during a recent event in China, marks a bold step into uncharted territory for mobile technology. Designed in collaboration with the renowned German film equipment manufacturer ARRI, the Honor Robot Phone combines advanced robotics with high-end imaging capabilities, offering users a unique experience that goes beyond traditional smartphones. The Honor Robot Phone was first showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona earlier this year, drawing significant attention from journalists and industry experts. The physical design of the robotic gimbal is equally impressive. Constructed from titanium alloy, the gimbal is lightweight yet durable, allowing for smooth and precise movements. The process of extending and retracting the gimbal takes approximately four seconds, two seconds for extension and two for retraction, with a subtle, muffled sound accompanying each movement. This seamless integration of hardware and software ensures that the user experiences a fluid and intuitive interface, even with the complex mechanics involved. While the Honor Robot Phone represents a significant leap forward in smartphone technology, it comes at a premium price. Priced around €1,300 to €1,700, the device is currently available exclusively on the Chinese market.
