Jakub Józef Orliński, the pop star of the baroque opera, is returning to Chile

Jakub Józef Orliński, the acclaimed Polish countertenor known for his fusion of classical music with contemporary flair, will return to Chile's stages on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 8 p.m., at the Teatro Municipal de Viña del Mar. Performing alongside the renowned Italian ensemble Il Pomo d’Oro, he will present his celebrated Baroque tour “Beyond with Il Pomo d’Oro,” produced by the Fundación Museo de la Moda. The Polish singer has established himself as one of the most beloved and celebrated opera stars of this decade, gaining international recognition through performances, concerts, and recordings. His concerts and recitals have drawn large crowds across Europe, America, and Asia, attracting new audiences to classical music. In September 2024, he released his album #LetsBaRock, following the success of Beyond, which was published in October 2023. Both albums continue to tour globally during the 2025/26 season. Orliński has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Opus Klassik award for Male Singer of the Year (2023), the Gold Medal Gloria Artis for Cultural Merit in Poland (2024), the BBC Music Magazine Award in the UK for his performance in Beyond (2024), and the International Classical Music Award in France for his album Anima Aeterna (2022). He has also been nominated twice for a Grammy for his recordings of Agrippina and Eurydice. With a global fanbase that includes hundreds of thousands of followers on social media, Orliński has worked as a model and influencer for international brands such as Rolex, Netflix, Orange, Louis Vuitton, Levi’s, Nike, BMW, Lacoste, and MAC Cosmetics. He is also a talented breakdancer, having placed fourth in the Red Bull BC One Poland Cypher competition and second in both the Stylish Strike, Top Rock Contest and The Style Control competition. Few opera singers can claim to have performed in some of the world’s most prestigious concert halls and graced the covers of Vogue Polonia, Esquire, and Elle. His live performances, described as “captivating” by The Guardian, have sold out concert halls and opera theaters around the globe. For the 2025/26 season, Orliński continues his dynamic presence on the global stage with a series of exciting concerts, recitals, and tours. The start of the season saw him embark on the #LetsBaRock tour across Europe, an innovative live project with Aleksander Dębicz. In London, he gave two highly anticipated recitals at the Wigmore Hall. December 2025 included notable moments such as a tour with Il Giardino d’Amore and performances of Handel’s Messiah alongside Yannick Nézet-Séguin and the Philadelphia Orchestra. At the beginning of 2026, he returned to the opera stage as Athamas in Semele by Handel at the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam. In February 2026, he embarked on a tour of Giulio Cesare across Europe with Il Pomo d’Oro. Later in the season, Orliński performed several recitals in Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Shanghai, followed by a broader recital tour across Europe in May 2026 and his debut recital at the end of the season at the iconic Teatro La Scala in Milan. During the 2024/25 season, Orliński continued the extensive European tour of his album Beyond with Il Pomo d’Oro and launched his #LetsBaRock project with Aleksander Dębicz at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Kammermusiksaal of the Berlin Philharmonic. He performed the role of Ottone in Agrippina at the Zurich Opera House and gave multiple performances of oratorios, including Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater at the Grand Théâtre de Genève and Handel’s Deborah in Utrecht, Paris, Vienna, and Bayreuth. Previous seasons have seen Orliński achieve milestones such as performing in major festivals and collaborating with leading orchestras and conductors.
