CroatiaThe new school year has begun in Istria, with significant investments being made in educational infrastructure across the region. In Krnica, students at the Primary School Vladimir Nazor have started classes in a completely renovated building, which cost two million euros. The renovation included thermal insulation, updated plumbing and electrical systems, fire alarms, new windows, and a modern heating and cooling system using air-to-water heat pumps. Additionally, 60 photovoltaic panels were installed on the roof. Istrian County Governor Boris Miletić emphasized the importance of these improvements for providing safer and more modern learning conditions. This project is part of a larger investment cycle in education, sports, and technical culture, totaling nearly 42 million euros in 2026. Major projects include the reconstruction and expansion of schools, construction of sports halls, and creating conditions for single-shift teaching in many schools. Similar efforts are underway in other towns like Marčani, Svetvinčent, Kanfanaro, Fažan, Labin, Pazin, and Pula.
