Hónapokkal hosszabbították meg a letartóztatásukat, Őrsi Gergely, Láng Zsolt és Molnár Zsolt is rács mögött marad

The Budapest Central District Court has extended the pretrial detention of several individuals involved in a corruption case related to municipal contracts. These include Gergely Őrsi, former mayor of the II. district, Zsolt Láng, former mayor of the same district, and Zsolt Molnár, a former MP from the MSZP party, until October 4. The Central Investigative Prosecutor’s Office (KNYF) requested the extension for seven suspects, including these three and other Momentum politicians and two entrepreneurs. However, the prosecutor’s office lifted the detention for Péter Puskás, a former deputy mayor from the III. district. According to the KNYF, a businessman allegedly bribed officials across multiple municipalities between 2011 and 2024, spending over 2 billion forints to secure contracts and influence political decisions. The investigation suggests that bribes were distributed among different political factions, with amounts split in varying proportions depending on political alliances. Additionally, the businessman allegedly bribed officials from both the II. and III. districts, including current and former mayors and local representatives, to ensure favorable treatment for his firms.
