Filippo Bisciglia: I dream of a game show, but I haven't told Pier Silvio about it

Filippo Bisciglia, the longtime host of Temptation Island, has reflected on the show's enduring success and his evolving role within it. The reality series, which explores relationships through dramatic scenarios involving couples in crisis or seeking answers, continues to draw large audiences on Mediaset. According to Bisciglia, the program’s appeal lies in its authenticity, even if some elements are heightened for effect. The Italian television personality spoke with ANSA about the show’s trajectory over the years. He noted how far Temptation Island has come since its debut in 2014, achieving record-breaking viewership figures this year. The latest episode ended with a share of 35.5 percent, while the previous one attracted 4.4 million viewers, the highest absolute number ever recorded for the show. This success, he explained, stems from careful selection of participants and the collaborative effort behind the scenes, including producers Raffaella Mennoia and Maria De Filippi, who have supported him throughout his career. Bisciglia emphasized that the show serves as a mirror to real life, allowing viewers to see themselves in the dynamics of the contestants. “It’s reality,” he said. “Sometimes exaggerated, but still reality.” His involvement this season appeared more pronounced than in past years, with clear stances taken during episodes. While not directly tied to Temptation Island, the show will include reflections on his experiences with the program. Bisciglia also mentioned his long-term aspirations, noting that he has always dreamed of hosting a live game show. However, he refrained from approaching Pier Silvio Berlusconi directly about such opportunities, stating he does not make requests. Instead, he prefers to let his work speak for itself. His career began two decades ago when he participated in the sixth edition of Big Brother, a show that launched him into the public eye. Since then, he has become a familiar face on Italian television, known for his engaging presence and ability to connect with audiences. As Temptation Island continues to thrive, Bisciglia remains focused on both his television responsibilities and upcoming projects.
