Study reveals the most sustainable companies according to citizenship and the challenges they have to lead the transition

The fourth edition of the Business Sustainability Monitor (MSE) by Ipsos, in collaboration with the Santiago Chamber of Commerce (CCS) and the University of Development (UDD), evaluated public perception of companies' environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance. The study surveyed over 5,000 people across different regions and socioeconomic levels, assessing more than 25,000 evaluations based on 12 attributes related to ESG dimensions. The resulting Corporate Sustainability Perception Index (IPSE) averaged 593 points, a four-point drop from the previous measurement. Social sustainability was most highly rated, followed by governance, while environmental sustainability remained the weakest area. The report highlighted a gap between corporate actions and communication, noting that 42% of respondents felt there was little information on sustainability initiatives, and only 25% fully trusted corporate messaging. Colún led the overall rankings, followed by Dr. Simi and Sodimac. Sodimac showed significant improvement, rising from 17th to third place, becoming a leader in home and construction.
