Disgraced reality TV star Stephen Bear admits sex offenders register breaches

Stephen Bear, a former Celebrity Big Brother winner and disgraced television personality, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to five counts of failing to comply with the sex offenders register notification requirements. The 36-year-old, based in Walthamstow, London, appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court alongside his partner, Miami, and admitted to multiple violations related to his obligations under the register. These included not informing authorities of a trip to Brazil last year and failing to report his return to the UK within the mandated three-day window. Additionally, Bear did not disclose acquiring a new passport and two additional bank cards during his time abroad. Bear’s legal troubles began in 2023 when he was sentenced to prison for sharing a private sex tape of his ex-girlfriend, Georgia Harrison, on his OnlyFans platform. As part of his sentencing, he was placed on the sex offenders register for a period of ten years. The current proceedings relate to breaches of that requirement, with Bear admitting to specific instances of non-compliance. According to court documents, he failed to inform police of his travel to Brazil on January 17 of last year. Upon his return to the UK on April 27 of this year, he did not report his arrival within the required timeframe. Further, he did not notify authorities about obtaining a new passport on January 20 of last year and acquiring two new bank cards on May 14 of this year. The court proceedings were temporarily delayed due to Bear’s upcoming sentencing at Chelmsford Crown Court for breaching a restraining order. This separate case is unrelated to the current charges before the magistrates’ court. During the hearing, Bear was observed making a praying gesture with his hands and giving a thumbs-up as he left the dock. He also thanked the court and wished them a good day. Defending counsel Jesse Williams explained that Bear was unaware of the obligation to notify police of his trip to Brazil within three days of returning. During his stay in Brazil, Bear’s NatWest card was blocked, prompting him to apply for alternative banking services through Wise and Revolut. Williams stated that Bear needed these accounts to cover living expenses and ensure financial stability if one account became unavailable. While in Brazil, Bear also lost his passport and sought assistance from the British consulate to obtain a replacement. Williams further noted that Bear returned to the UK in April 2026 following the death of his father. This personal circumstance influenced his decision to come back to the country. Despite these explanations, the court will determine the appropriate consequences for Bear’s failures to meet his legal obligations. Bear is scheduled to appear again at Chelmsford Crown Court on Thursday for the restraining order breach case and will also attend a hearing at Thames Magistrates’ Court on August 14. The outcome of these proceedings could significantly impact his future, particularly given the ongoing legal challenges he faces.
