Croatia Bike Week in Pula: General Danger is on, and a big motorcycle parade has been announced

The 29th edition of Croatia Bike Week will take place in Pula from August 26 to 29, drawing motorbike enthusiasts and rock music fans to the former military base Vallelunga. Organized by the Twin Horn MC motorcycle club, this year's event marks the end of the summer season with a lineup featuring some of Europe’s top rock acts. The festival includes concerts, custom bike displays, vintage vehicle exhibitions, and stunt performances, all set against the backdrop of the Adriatic Sea. The musical highlights include a performance by Opća opasnost, one of Croatia’s most popular rock bands, who will debut their new vocalist Zoran Mišić during their concert scheduled for Thursday, August 27. The band will be joined by Strange Kind of Women, a European tribute group based in London, Paris, and Udine, known for performing songs originally recorded by Deep Purple. This year’s lineup features more tribute bands dedicated to internationally renowned rock groups than ever before, according to organizers. A central part of the festival takes place on Saturday, beginning at 2 p.m. with an exhibition and gathering of classic vehicles. These will join a large parade starting at 4 p.m., which is expected to involve thousands of motorcycles. The procession will travel through Pula’s streets, making a customary stop in front of the Arena. In addition to the parade, the Custom Show will showcase and award the best modified motorcycles and three-wheelers in several categories. Organizers anticipate this year’s Custom Show to be the most elaborate yet. Visitors can expect a wide range of activities at Vallelunga, including a large trade fair offering motorcycle and rock-themed merchandise, clothing, jewelry, and souvenirs. Local and international exhibitors will participate in the fair. A Stunt Show will feature acrobatic performances by Dejan Špoljar and his team. The gastronomic offerings highlight Istrian products such as Malvasia wine, truffles, olive oil, and boškarin sausage. In addition to traditional festival fare, visitors can sample pasta with sauce, several types of burgers, vegetarian dishes, and pizza baked in a wood-fired oven. The event is held at Vallelunga, a seaside location that includes a campsite in a pine forest. The campsite opens early in the week, and organizers continue to expand and improve the venue each year. Entry to the event is free on Wednesday for all attendees. Tickets for Friday and Saturday cost 10 euros and grant access to both days, available for purchase at the entrance. Motorcyclists, except scooter riders, have free entry throughout the entire duration of the event. Electric mobility scooters are not permitted on the site.
