In San Bento do Sul, northern Santa Catarina, Brazil, a unique sustainable building has captured local attention. Created by Sandro Gilberto Jankoski, the structure is a bioclimatic home partially buried with a green roof, designed for autonomy and minimal environmental impact. The main construction method used 'superadobe,' involving long polypropylene bags filled with compacted earth. These were cut into 15-meter segments and stacked, shaped, and compressed progressively. All materials came from the site itself, eliminating transportation and integrating the structure with the environment. The process was likened to a 'manual 3D printer.' Construction took nearly a year, with Sandro working alone, manually carrying buckets and compressing the earth. The result is excellent thermal comfort, maintaining stable indoor temperatures regardless of external conditions.
