CZThe Brazilian giant has landed in the Czech Republic for the first time, carrying tons of cargo and dozens of paratroopers.
The first Brazilian-made Embraer C-390 Millennium transport aircraft landed at Prague-Ruzyně Airport, marking a significant enhancement to the Czech Republic's military capabilities. The aircraft, which completed its maiden flight in Brazil earlier this year, is set to join the fleet of the 24th Air Transport Base located at Prague-Kbely Airport. This acquisition, part of a €11.3 billion contract signed in October 2024 between the Czech Ministry of Defense and Embraer, includes additional equipment for firefighting and evacuation operations. The plane is capable of carrying up to 26 tons of cargo, 80 passengers, or 64 fully armed paratroopers, with varying ranges depending on load. The Czech defense industry is involved in the production of components for the aircraft, including parts manufactured by Aero Vodochody.
