‘25 marriages, fake identity’: UP BJP MLA's shocking claims about son-in-law

Uttar Pradesh BJP MLA Gyan Tiwari has made shocking allegations against his son-in-law, claiming he used fake identities to deceive multiple women and had allegedly entered into 25 marriages. The MLA, representing the constituency of Sevata, lodged a formal complaint with the police, leading to the registration of a First Information Report (FIR). The accused, identified as Prakhar Trivedi, has been arrested along with his father, Anuj Trivedi, following the complaint. The incident unfolded after Tiwari discovered discrepancies in his son-in-law’s background through social media and other sources. Tiwari revealed that his daughter, Pragya, married Prakhar Trivedi in 2024. Before the marriage, Prakhar presented himself as a businessman operating in the real estate sector, based in Mumbai. He reportedly concealed his criminal past and previous marriages from Tiwari’s family. The MLA claimed that the marriage was finalized after local inquiries and positive feedback from individuals deemed influential in the community. However, approximately two-and-a-half years later, the family uncovered troubling information about Prakhar’s activities. According to Tiwari, Prakhar had engaged in numerous fraudulent relationships, luring women from different states, including Maharashtra, into marriages using fabricated identities. These women were allegedly defrauded of substantial sums of money. The MLA alleged that Prakhar had been involved in around 25 such marriages. In a social media video posted on August 6, Tiwari expressed his anguish, stating that the situation had caused deep emotional trauma within his family and damaged his reputation as a public figure. He called for severe legal action against the accused, even suggesting the death penalty if found guilty. Following the complaint, the Reusa police registered a case against Anuj Trivedi under charges of cheating. Legal proceedings have been initiated, and both Anuj and Prakhar Trivedi have been detained. Tiwari emphasized that he has severed all social and personal ties with the accused family and has taken his daughter back to his home. His statements reflect a sense of betrayal and frustration, highlighting the gravity of the situation. The allegations against Prakhar Trivedi suggest a pattern of deceit and exploitation, raising concerns about the authenticity of his claims and the potential legal consequences.
