U Belgiji je tokom toplinskog vala koji je trajao od 18. lipnja do 16. kolovoza zabilježeno 2935 dodatnih smrtnih slučajeva, što predstavlja 22,6 posto veću smrtnost. Najveći porast smrtnosti zaprimljeno je od 18. lipnja do 3. srpnja, kada je broj prekomjernih smrtnih slučajeva iznosio 2035, tj. 48,8 posto iznad očekivanih razina.
