The Russian shadow fleet has been attacked.

On the night of Monday to Tuesday, Ukrainian drones attacked Russian 'shadow fleet' ships on the Sea of Azov. Eight fuel tankers were hit and set on fire, along with a cargo ship and a ferry, according to Robert 'Magyar' Browdi, commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces. The attack targeted vessels used by Russia to circumvent international sanctions on oil exports. These tankers, built between 2006 and 2012, have capacities of up to 7,000 tons and lengths of over 140 meters. Earlier in the day, Ukrainian forces had already struck two other tankers on the Sea of Azov, as well as two S-400 air defense systems and a fuel base in Kerch. The 'shadow fleet' consists mainly of older tankers used by Russia to bypass sanctions, and currently includes at least 600 ships, possibly up to 1,600 globally.

Ukrainians use drones to destroy Russian 'shadow fleet': 'Battle for Crimea's fuel supply continues'

Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces reportedly attacked eight Russian 'shadow fleet' tankers in the Sea of Azov on Monday night, according to commander Robert 'Hungarian' Brovdi, as reported by Ukrainska Pravda. The attack was carried out by pilots from the Kairos unit of the 414th Separate Brigade 'Hungarian's Birds,' who also hit one cargo ship. The targeted tankers are under international sanctions and have capacities ranging around 7,000 tons. Their names include Venera-3, Sanar-1, Sanar-17, Klimena, Teti, Aleksej Savrasov, and Penelopa, with the eighth vessel yet to be confirmed. This strike continues Ukraine's efforts to disrupt Russia's fuel supply to Crimea, which has been affected by Ukrainian long-range attacks on Russian refineries and energy facilities. Earlier, on June 22–23, Ukrainian forces struck over 60 targets in Crimea and other occupied areas.
