Automattic names interim CFO after exec departures

Automattic, the parent company of WordPress, has appointed Jeremy Klaperman as interim chief financial officer (CFO) following recent executive changes. This comes after the attempted removal of CEO Matt Mullenweg, which led to the departure of several executives, including former CFO Mark Davies and Chief Legal Officer Andy Missan. Davies had previously served as interim CEO before Mullenweg regained the role. Mullenweg stated that Klaperman had already acted as CFO during Davies' sabbatical and emphasized confidence in the company's financial stability. A new chief legal officer has also been selected, and the board will soon evaluate candidates for the permanent CFO role. Special advisor Stephen Wolfram will continue his involvement, and the next board meeting is set for September 23.
