ANI granted permission for aqueduct that will benefit more than 68.000 inhabitants of Neiva

The Colombian agency responsible for infrastructure, the National Infrastructure Agency (ANI), has granted a permit for the installation of water supply networks for the Las Ceibas project managed by Public Companies of Neiva (Empresas Públicas de Neiva E.S.P.). The approval was issued within a single day, significantly speeding up the process that typically takes six to twelve months. This decision will benefit over 68,000 residents of Neiva, the capital of the Huila department. The project, which involves the installation of water distribution systems, requires access to existing road infrastructure. A working meeting involving the Neiva City Council, the concessionaire Ruta al Sur, which oversees the 4G Santana-Mocoa-Neiva project, the intervenor, and the ANI led to the resolution of necessary requirements. The city mayor, German Casagua, stated that his administration had been waiting for this authorization for nearly eight months, during which time efforts were focused on delivering clean water to the communities that would benefit from the service. The initiative represents an investment exceeding $15 billion and aims to provide potable water to more than 17,000 users and over 68,000 inhabitants of Neiva’s sixth district. ANI President Ricardo Ayerbe emphasized that the agency's approach under President Abelardo de La Espriella reflects openness towards citizens and public services, reinforcing the agency's commitment to transparency and accessibility. In addition to improving water access, the project supports the activation of a new Police Command Post in the department, funded with an investment surpassing $30 billion by the Neiva City Council.
