In a tragic incident that has shocked the community in Hanau, Germany, 52-year-old Aleksandra was found dead on the parking lot of her apartment building on May 19. The victim's daughter, Šalina, discovered her mother's body covered with a sheet, surrounded by police and emergency services. According to reports, Aleksandra had been stabbed by a former boyfriend of her daughter, 23-year-old Luka I., who was immediately arrested after the attack.

The incident occurred during a walk with her dog when Aleksandra was attacked. According to the prosecution, Luka used a knife to kill her. Following the attack, he called emergency services, which led to his arrest on the spot. The family claims that this act of violence was preceded by months of harassment and serious threats from Luka after their breakup. Šalina stated that Luka had threatened both her and herself, leading to a life filled with fear where she rarely left home alone.

Despite multiple reports to the police and issued restraining orders against Luka in February and April, the family asserts that he continued to harass them and send threatening messages. On the day before the murder, Luka sent a final message stating, "You will think of me for the rest of your life, and everything that happens now will be your fault." Aleksandra reported this threat to the police the same day, but the following morning, she was found dead.

Šalina believes that the real target of the attack was herself, but Luka decided to inflict the greatest possible pain by killing her mother. She emphasized how close she and her mother were, noting that her mother had tried to help Luka through long conversations and support. After the tragedy, the family initiated efforts to advocate for stricter protective measures for victims of stalking and domestic abuse, including electronic tracking devices and more effective mechanisms to control individuals violating restraining orders.

Aleksandra’s husband, Mark, expressed frustration over the system failing to protect them despite using all legal avenues available. He conveyed hope that sharing their story would prevent similar tragedies from occurring to other families. The family continues to seek justice and support for victims of such crimes, emphasizing the need for stronger legal protections and quicker responses from authorities.

In another part of Europe, the tragic death of 26-year-old Ivana Krivokapić in December 2022 has also drawn significant attention. Her father, Slobodan, shared emotional messages online, expressing grief over the loss of his daughter. Ivana was found dead in her apartment in Belgrade's Zvezdara neighborhood, with the suspect being identified as Jetmir Gočaj, who fled the country after the crime and remains at large.

The investigation into Ivana’s murder has faced challenges due to Gočaj’s evasion of law enforcement. Despite searches in Montenegro and speculation about his whereabouts, including potential locations in Albania and the United States, Gočaj has remained elusive. The motive behind the murder is believed to be jealousy, according to prosecutors, yet no justice has been served for Ivana.

The case took an unexpected turn when investigators noted that there was no sign of forced entry, valuables were untouched, and the door remained locked, suggesting that the killer had access to the apartment and was known to Ivana. This detail shifted the direction of the investigation, highlighting the personal relationship between the victim and the accused.

Gočaj had previously posted emotional messages and shared photos with Ivana on social media, which initially made him a figure of sympathy. However, once he became a suspect, he abruptly deleted his posts and ceased communication with the media. Since then, he has disappeared from Serbia, leaving his exact location unknown. The family continues to wait for justice, hoping that one day they can find closure for their beloved daughter.
