According to KFT, Heineken has unlawfully used the title and chorus of Summer in Balaton, therefore the band raises a copyright objection

The KFT, a Hungarian folk band, has filed a copyright infringement claim against Heineken Hungary Zrt., alleging that the beer company illegally used the title and lyrics of their 1986 hit song 'Balatoni Nyár' to market an alcohol-free product. The band claims that Heineken launched the product without their consent or prior inquiry, leveraging the emotional and cultural significance associated with the song. The KFT’s legal representative sent a formal letter to Heineken outlining the copyright concerns. Both parties expressed hope that they can resolve the dispute through negotiation rather than litigation, which they believe would be appropriate given the international nature of Heineken and the band’s 45-year history.
