Hamas is dissolving the leadership in Gaza, and a technocratic committee will be appointed to govern the territory.

The Hamas has dissolved the governing body overseeing the Gaza Strip after nearly two decades, paving the way for a technocratic committee composed of civilians to take over administration. This decision was announced by Hamas on Monday, with current staff members remaining in their positions, indicating a transition rather than a complete overhaul. Since the October truce agreement, Hamas has repeatedly signaled its intent to step back from daily governance. According to an AFP source, the existing committee will be replaced by the National Committee for Gaza Affairs (NCAG), led by engineer Ali Saad, which will assume administrative responsibilities during this transitional period. A 'nationally accepted figure' will oversee governance temporarily. Hamas officials stated that other Palestinian groups were informed of this move at an Egyptian meeting and welcomed it.
