Ballet Arabesque is celebrating the 85th anniversary of the birth of Margarita Arnaudova

The Ballet 'Arabesque' is commemorating the 85th anniversary of the birth of its longtime choreographer Margarita Arnaudova (1941–1994). She graduated from the State Choreographic School in Sofia in 1959, earning her diploma with the role of the Firebird. Her first teacher was Nina Kiradzhieva, one of Bulgaria’s most sought-after choreographers. Despite being a promising ballerina, Arnaudova expressed herself more as a creator than a performer, leading her to study at the GITTIS in Moscow under Anatoly Shatin, a dissident choreographer who was banned from staging his own works but allowed to teach. During her time at the institute, Arnaudova demonstrated herself as one of the most talented students with a strong ballet mastery talent. All of her
