Recently, Gordon Gill, the architect responsible for the Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia, a structure that will soon hold the title of the world’s tallest, spoke about the need to focus on updating current infrastructure rather than solely pursuing greater heights. Gill emphasized the importance of maintaining the relevance of existing buildings to ensure their longevity and avoid obsolescence. His comments were made during an interview with Newsweek, where he highlighted the role of architects in contributing to a sustainable urban future. Miami’s real estate market has seen unprecedented activity, particularly in the luxury segment. According to a March report from the Miami Association of Realtors, year-to-date sales of million-dollar homes in the region have reached an all-time high since 2008, with 2,040 such sales recorded by February 2026. Other ongoing developments include the Okan Tower (908 feet) and the 888 Brickell by Dolce & Gabbana (1,049 feet).
