The case took nearly a year to resolve, according to Bellanila Hernández, the lawyer representing Blanca. She described the process as lengthy, noting that it spanned ten months before the court granted temporary custody and the financial stipend for the dog. Hernández emphasized the importance of the ruling, stating that dogs and cats are sentient beings whose rights are protected under Mexico's Constitution.
