The prosecution claims the attack was premeditated and is pursuing a Schedule 6 case. Grace described the experience as terrifying and expressed fear for the worst. Despite her injuries, she managed to move around the house, though sitting was painful. Her family used a pillow to help her sit comfortably. The X-ray revealed the bullet's position near her spine, causing intense heat sensations around her waist, extending to her lower abdomen and back. On 15 October, Grace received visits from neighborhood friends who came to see Mkhonto. The emotional impact on the family was profound, with Mkhonto recalling the devastation of seeing her grandchild wounded in the hospital. Grace, despite her pain, spoke clearly about the events of the day, detailing what she heard and felt during the incident.
