Six workers were transported to local hospitals following the accident, which took place near the vehicle ramp in a tunnel while they were heading to a break. According to reports, heavy stage equipment fell onto the workers, causing injuries. One of them described the incident as happening “in seconds.” The emergency call was made around 11 PM, with the operator noting a “crash involving a crane and injured individuals.” The incident was captured on audio recordings by the fire department. According to the Click on Detroit website, the equipment struck the workers close to the vehicle ramp in the tunnel. One worker, who was hit in the chest by the load, recounted how everything happened in an instant. All six workers were taken to nearby hospitals. While none of the victims were in life-threatening condition, two sustained serious injuries, and the remaining four had stable conditions. One of the injured workers stated he spent the night in the hospital and was discharged on August 30. The official statement from the Ford Field management confirmed that one of their employees was among the injured. They have initiated a detailed investigation and are collaborating with relevant authorities and production partners of the event. The management emphasized that they will not speculate on the cause of the accident, expressing gratitude to the Detroit Fire Department and emergency services for their swift response. The artist did not comment on the incident. Sheeran previously performed in Zagreb on August 10, 2024, as part of his tour titled "+, =÷× (Mathematics)". The concert took place at the Zagreb Hippodrome, attended by approximately 70,000 people. He performed on a circular stage positioned in the center of the field, with Croatian artists Dino Jelusić and Calum Scott warming up the audience before his appearance. Sheeran emerged wearing a shirt with the word “Zagreb” written on it and greeted fans in the Croatian language. His performance concluded with the song “Bad Habits” followed by a large fireworks display.
