An ex-robber has been placed under formal investigation after admitting to killing a 77-year-old man found dead in a forest in the Vosges region of northeastern France late June. The suspect was arrested and held in custody by the Nancy investigative unit on Tuesday. Chantaduc’s death occurred in a remote area of the forest near Éloyes, where he was found by a passerby on June 28. His body showed signs of multiple stab wounds and partial burning.
