Švedska prekine podnebne projekte v Gani ni zmanjšala emisij

Sweden has decided to terminate a climate project in Ghana aimed at reducing carbon emissions through solar panels, as planned emission reductions have not been achieved. The project, initiated in 2024 with funding from Sweden’s Energy Agency, was intended to reduce emissions by 165,000 tons of CO2 equivalent by 2030, helping Sweden meet its climate goals by 2045. However, after more than two years, no approved project plan has been presented, and there is uncertainty whether any solar panels have been installed. The decision to halt the project comes amid disputes over a change in ownership of the Swedish company Stella Futura, which was acquired by another firm last year. The contract with Stella Futura was valued at 90 million Swedish kronor, but the funds will not be paid out. Climate Minister Romina Pourmokhtari had previously emphasized the importance of such international climate compensation efforts, but challenges in achieving emission reductions in other countries have emerged.
