Regional Innovation Houses to build research ecosystem: BRIN

BRIN, the National Research and Innovation Agency of Indonesia, has launched an internship program aimed specifically at college students, marking a significant step towards integrating academic talent into the nation’s growing research and innovation landscape. The internship program was announced during a public lecture held at Malang State University in Malang, East Java, where BRIN’s head, Arif Satria, outlined the agency’s vision for fostering a robust research and innovation ecosystem. These Regional Innovation Houses are intended to act as hubs where researchers from various universities within a single province can collaborate, share ideas, and work on projects that address both provincial and district-level challenges. By bringing together diverse expertise, these centers aim to generate innovative solutions tailored to specific regional needs, thereby contributing to the overall economic growth and sustainability of Indonesia. Satria also mentioned that the first such house, known as the Indonesia Innovation House, is set to open later this year, signaling a phased approach to expanding this network nationwide.
