Tusk made the comments during a press briefing prior to a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, emphasizing that the incident is part of a broader pattern of escalation by Russia in the region. The fires in question took place in two separate locations within Poland. On Sunday, a fire erupted at a production site in Lublin operated by JFG Composites, a company specializing in aerospace components used in military helicopters. Then, just over 24 hours later, a second fire broke out at the WB Electronics plant in Skarżysko-Kamienna. By Monday afternoon, Polish prosecutors and security agencies had classified the latter incident as a potential "crime of a terrorist nature," suggesting possible involvement by "foreign intelligence." Tusk acknowledged that while conclusive evidence linking the Lublin fire to deliberate sabotage was still pending, the nature of the operations conducted at that facility made it difficult to rule out such a possibility. He further noted that the timing and circumstances surrounding both incidents indicated a coordinated effort aimed at disrupting Poland's defense capabilities. On Tuesday, German authorities discovered several improvised explosive devices at a power plant near the Polish border. This followed Germany's announcement that it holds Russia accountable for a drone strike targeting Leipzig airport in late July. Deputy Interior Minister Czesław Mroczek revealed that surveillance footage captured a masked individual entering the WB Electronics premises in Skarżysko-Kamienna.
