Avstrijska federacija sindikatov (ÖGB) je kritizirala zmanjšanje maržnih predpisov za dizelsko in grelnino in pozvala k njihovi ponovni uvedbi.

Oil and gas prices fell again after a recent rise The price of crude oil and natural gas dropped once more following a sharp increase driven by tensions in the Middle East and attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. The benchmark North Sea Brent crude price for delivery in September climbed overnight to surpass the 90-dollar mark for the first time since June. Since early July, global oil reference prices have risen nearly 30 percent. By mid-morning, however, the price had retreated to 88.18 dollars, roughly 77 euros per barrel. In Austria, the surge in oil prices was reflected at fuel stations. According to data from the E-Control, the median price for diesel rose from 1.72 euros per liter on July 1 to 1.919 euros per liter. Similarly, the median price for super gasoline increased from 1.669 euros to 1.794 euros per liter. These changes highlight the direct impact of fluctuating energy markets on consumer costs within the country. The Austrian Trade Union Federation (ÖGB) called for a “effective margin regulation” for diesel and heating oil. During the fuel price brake initiative, the previously criticized margin intervention had already been reduced in June, and since then, only the mineral oil tax (MöSt) has been lowered. Angela Pfister, head of the economic affairs department at the ÖGB, expressed frustration over this development. She stated that it was completely incomprehensible that the previous margin regulation had been weakened, especially given that the conflict in the Middle East is far from resolved. Meanwhile, European gas prices briefly reached levels last seen since the start of the Iran conflict. At one point, the European gas price hit 60.66 euros per megawatt-hour (MWh), marking the highest level since the beginning of the crisis. By midday, the price had eased back to 58.25 euros per MWh. This volatility underscores the ongoing uncertainty in global energy markets and the continued influence of geopolitical developments on pricing dynamics. The situation reflects broader trends in energy markets, with supply chain disruptions and regional conflicts playing a key role in shaping price fluctuations. While the immediate drop in oil and gas prices offers temporary relief to consumers, the underlying factors suggest that market instability could persist. Energy providers and policymakers are under pressure to balance economic considerations with the need for long-term stability in energy supplies. As the situation continues to evolve, further monitoring of price movements and policy responses will be essential. The interplay between global politics, market forces, and regulatory interventions will likely remain a focal point for both industry stakeholders and government bodies. The current environment highlights the complex relationship between international events and domestic energy economics.

Ocena pristranskosti (Progresivno): Članek poudarja naraščajoče cene energije in kritizira odpravo nadzora cen goriva, kar se ujema z levičarsko zaskrbljenostjo zaradi gospodarske neenakosti in poslovnih dobičkov.

Zakaj dejstva (85): The article reports on recent fluctuations in oil and gas prices following events in the Middle East and attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz. It cites specific price changes for Brent crude and European gas, aligning with typical market reporting. The data on fuel prices in Austria is presented

Zakaj objektivnost (78): The article presents factual economic data neutrally but includes quotes from the ÖGB representative, which adds a political perspective. While not overtly biased, the emphasis on the impact of geopolitical tensions on energy prices may subtly frame the narrative around these factors.
