Rijeka hosted its 20th anniversary edition of the Maketarska škola, a long-standing tradition of the Zeppelin model club, during the "Ljeto na Školjiću" program. The event took place under the collaboration of the model club and the Center for Technical Culture (CTK) Rijeka, continuing a two-decade-old initiative supported by the City of Rijeka and the Primorsko-Goranska County. Young model builders had the opportunity to develop skills in creating detailed models and carry away lifelong memories. The annual event, part of the city's broader educational initiatives, brings together the youngest enthusiasts of technical culture and craftsmanship. This year’s Maketarska škola marked the culmination of year-round and summer educational activities organized by the Zeppelin club. Participants, mostly students from lower grades of primary school, were introduced to both basic and advanced techniques of assembling and precisely joining miniature components through hands-on workshops. In addition to mastering assembly methods, participants learned how to prepare surfaces for painting and create authentic details that give each work a unique character. The focus was not solely on producing accurate models, but also on developing fine motor skills, logical thinking, and technical abilities. According to Igor Petrović, the instructor of the Maketarska škola, who has led the program for over two decades, the most valuable takeaway for participants was not just their finished works, but the lasting friendships and memories they formed. This uninterrupted twenty-year tradition underscores the continued interest among young modelers in such content related to technical culture. The jubilee year concluded with a proud exhibition of the works created by the young participants, once again demonstrating how patience and effort can transform imagination into impressive miniature worlds.
