The final results of the state high school exams have been published, with the official ranking lists for universities made available. Over 30,000 students and participants took part in the exams, and after 15 hours, the final rankings for university admissions will be announced. According to reports, the outcomes reveal that more than seven percent, and over 38 percent of students from vocational schools did not pass one of the required subjects in the summer session. A number of these students had their appeals accepted, and they passed the exams compared to the preliminary results released a week earlier. Among the top performers, 51 students achieved perfect scores of 100 percent on one or more of the state high school exams. In terms of performance by subject, this year’s cohort performed best in the essay section of the Croatian language exam, which was noted as the strongest result in three years. Improvements were also observed in English language results. However, both higher and basic level mathematics exams showed lower scores compared to previous years. Among optional subjects, fewer than 40 percent of students passed informatics, while other optional subjects saw similar trends. The final university admission rankings will be known around 15 hours after the publication of the exam results. At that time, it will be clear which students have secured spots at which institutions, as well as how many places remain available for the autumn session. The information will provide clarity for students planning their academic paths moving forward. The announcement comes amid ongoing discussions about the quality of education and the challenges faced by students during the examination period. Officials have emphasized the importance of transparency and accuracy in the grading process, especially following the initial release of results that sparked some controversy. The revised figures reflect a more accurate assessment of student performance, taking into account the appeals and reassessments conducted by educational authorities. Educational institutions and university admissions offices are preparing for the influx of applicants who will now have access to the updated rankings. This data will play a crucial role in determining future enrollment numbers and shaping the academic landscape for the upcoming semester. Parents and educators are closely monitoring the developments, hoping for a fair and equitable distribution of opportunities based on merit. With the final results now confirmed, attention turns to the next steps in the academic calendar. Students who did not secure a place in the summer session will need to consider alternative options, including applying for positions in the autumn session or exploring other pathways such as apprenticeships or further training programs. The outcome of this year's examinations will continue to influence educational policies and strategies in the coming months.
