Wolt has launched a new feature called “Deljena plačila” (Shared Payment), which simplifies group orders for food delivery. The update, introduced on July 13, 2026, allows users to pay directly within the app for their share of a group order, eliminating the need for one person to collect payments from others. This change applies to all group orders placed with friends, family members, or colleagues. Previously, the organizer would settle the entire bill and then collect individual shares from participants, often leading to frustration among users. The new functionality works by allowing one user to create a group order, select the “Deljena plačila” option, and share a link or QR code with other participants. Each participant can join the order, choose their items, and pay directly through the Wolt app. Delivery costs and service charges are automatically split among all participants. If the organizer has a Wolt+ subscription, they can also benefit from associated perks such as free or discounted delivery. Once all participants complete their payments, the organizer confirms the order, which is then delivered to a shared address. Each participant receives a confirmation receipt, and the order is saved in their personal history. This update aims to resolve a common pain point for users who find the process of collecting money for group meals cumbersome and time-consuming. Internal data suggests that this issue is one of the main reasons why some users abandon group orders before they are completed. Maša Kovač, head of Wolt Slovenia, explained that while food has always brought people together, group ordering was not always as simple as users desired. She emphasized that the new feature removes the hassle of manual payment collection, allowing users to focus more on socializing rather than financial arrangements. The “Deljena plačila” feature builds upon Wolt’s existing suite of tools designed to simplify everyday food ordering. These include sending orders as gifts with personalized messages, placing orders from multiple vendors in a single delivery, and scheduling deliveries for specific times. With the introduction of shared payments, group ordering is now easier than ever, giving users more time to enjoy their gatherings and less time managing finances.
