The arrival of the Forthing S7 REEV on Croatia’s automotive market has sparked considerable attention, with its unique blend of electric and hybrid technology setting it apart from conventional vehicles. The car, developed by the Chinese Dongfeng Group, offers a compelling combination of range, performance, and cost-efficiency, challenging traditional perceptions of electric and hybrid vehicles. With a price tag of 32,990 euros, the S7 REEV is positioned to disrupt the market, particularly among buyers who previously favored established brands such as Škoda’s Superb PHEV. The vehicle's design reflects a strategic approach to both aesthetics and functionality. Measuring nearly five meters in length and over 1.9 meters in width, the S7 REEV belongs to the D-segment and commands attention on the road. Its aerodynamic profile, featuring a low front end, sloped windshield, and a fastback rear section reminiscent of a sports car, contributes to an impressive drag coefficient of just 0.191 Cd, among the lowest for a production vehicle. This achievement underscores the engineering focus on efficiency, translating into lower energy consumption and extended driving range. At the heart of the S7 REEV’s innovation lies its REEV (Range Extended Electric Vehicle) concept. However, the concern of limited range, common among pure electric cars, is mitigated by the presence of a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a capacity of 28.4 kWh. After approximately 150 kilometers of city or highway driving, the battery will need recharging, at which point the gasoline engine activates seamlessly to generate additional power, allowing continued travel without the necessity of stopping for charging. The S7 REEV’s design has not gone unnoticed on Croatian roads. Drivers and passersby have been drawn to its striking appearance, with some even mistaking it for a high-performance brand such as Ferrari. One friend, upon seeing the vehicle, asked, “What is this? Ferrari?” highlighting the car’s distinctive look and the boldness of its design elements, including frameless doors that enhance its premium feel. Inside, the cabin continues the theme of modernity and minimalism. A large 15.6-inch touchscreen dominates the dashboard, offering intuitive control over virtually all vehicle functions. An 8.8-inch digital display provides essential information for the driver. The spacious interior, aided by a generous wheelbase of 2,915 millimeters, ensures comfort, especially for rear passengers.
